Cool Dude. :-)

Getting Ready for Bedtime.

Show me pouty...Silly Mommy...

Marshall has learned to go up and down the stairs. He has always gone up the stairs and we have been working on going down them. Now he is comfortable enough to do it on his own all the time now (chattering away while doing it! :-)).

He is such a good walker now. But what is really funny is now that he knows to go backwards off the couch and stairs. He will turn around to be safe. So seeing how different the tile and wood floors are, he will sometimes turn around to enter the kitchen.

Video of Marshall taking his ball to his doggies. He loves them. He saw Molly across the room and walked to her and laid down on top of her furry tummy and cuddled her like a pillow.

Elmo

November 25, 2008

Marshall is totally fascinated by Elmo. He will stop what he is doing when he hears his voice on the TV. He also was fascinated with the Elmo's in the store. When the Elmo live talks then he will smile at it and just focus on it totally. He also really likes his Chicken Dance Elmo too. He will actually giggle at it, especially when it freaks out his doggies.

He also likes it when Mommy does the Elmo voice for the hand puppet attached to this book. He is so fascinated with it that he will actually stop crying to watch the hand puppet talk to him (usually I say something like "Elmo says he loves you, Marshall."). I also found some old Robotic Elmos (Tickle Me Elmo) for $5 on Craigslist and he has already figured out where to press to get Elmo to talk.

I also found "Elmo in Grouchland" for really cheap so more endless entertainment. Here he is enjoying his show while sitting in his froggy chair.

Ba-Ja-Ja

November 19, 2008

Well Besides saying "Yeah" to everything, Marshall says another word very frequently. "Ba-Ja-Ja." I couldn't tell what that meant. Well with the Fall weather comes more allergies, which means more sneezing. After Marshall sneezes he says "Ba-Ja-Ja" or "Bless you." He also thinks it means a form of Thank you as well. It is really cute. What a smart boy figuring this out on his own.

Chatty Cathy and Other Little Quirks

November 13, 2008

Marshall is quite the "Chatty Cathy." This little boy loves to TALK! I never realized how much Chris and I say "Yeah" when we are conversing with each other. Well Marshall says it all the time. Especially when Chris and I are talking with each other and he wants to be a part of the conversation. He also does it at funny times when we ask him questions.

"Marshall. Do you love Daddy?" - "YEAH"
"Marshall. Do you want a Bottle?" - "YEAH"
"Marshall. Do you love your doggies." '"YEAH"

He loves the word so much that when he is on playdates, the Library or the Mall playground he will say "YEAH" really loudly.

Marshall has a few other words he likes to say:
"LOOOEEEE" (Translation: Chloe)
"MOLLLI" (Translation: Molly)
"I LALA" (Translation: I Love You; It just melts my heart when he randomly walks to me lays his head on my shoulder and says this.)
"Yo Ybbaa yaa" (Translation: Yo Gabba Gabba - the Kiddo show on Noggin/Nickelodeon Jr.)
"Daddiii" (Daddy)
"Maahmaa" (Mommy)
"Bor" (Boris)

I said the word Dragon the other day too and I swear he mimicked me. Chris thought I was crazy until Marshall did it for him too!

There are a few words he has stopped saying " Nana" (Binky) or "Baaaaa" (Bottle). He has started to Cluck his tongue at me instead for these items.

Marshall is also walking across rooms now! It is so amazing to see his little face all scrunched up concentrating on every little step. When he gets where he wants to he will sometime congratulate himself by saying "yaaaayy" at the end of his little walk. It is super cute!

Some little toddler quirks are starting to shine through now too! YEAAHH!!! He has started this high pitched "EAHHHHH" whine whenever he doesn't get what he wants. But for the most part he is still very cute and sweet through out the day!

He also really loves Elmo. So Mommy has been busy scouring the land (Craigslist) and will probably get him some to play with. He will stop what he is doing and actually turn to the TV to watch Elmo's segment on Sesame Street.

Oh one other funny quirk this Little Man has started to do is line up his toys. We always did this for him in the bathtub, but now he does it himself and he has begun to do it on the window sills.
He sat like this at his playdate for a few minutes taking in the actions of the other kids in his playgroup. I thought it was so funny and had to get a pic.

Sharing with Sophia.

Playing with the balls in the inflatable duck (he loves ducks!).

Being a goofball with baby Sister.

How Many Ailments (to the Head) Can One Little Boy Get?

November 4, 2008

The past 36 hours have been a little rough on Marshall. He has three teeth coming through, has come down with a runny nose and cough from his allergies and more seriously a food allergy. We are not quite sure what food/element is the culprit so Chris and I are just going to start a food diary for him and hope it doesn't get worse. It has only happened twice and it appears to only affect around his lips for about 20-30 minutes. Since these symptoms just cropped up on Saturday and yesterday for the first time, we are hoping that it does not become worse and affect his breathing.

Playdates and Playgrounds

November 3, 2008

Last week, in our supreme effort to get out of the house and get active, we met Sophia and her mom, and began going to the Public Libraries of the nearby towns for Storytelling. Knock-on-Wood, it has been surprisingly easy getting out and about, but it has helped having Shelly with me. She helps make it a little less scary.

One of the great things about living in Providence is the large number of parks, ponds and lakes in the Community. The weather was so wonderful the past few days and we had a lot of fun exploring them with Sophia, our new playdate friends and over the weekend with Daddy.

Storytime at the Denton Public Library on Halloween.
