Week 17: Milestones

February 23, 2008

There are so many interesting things going on around Marshall. He is totally fascinated by his doggies who are constantly playing/fighting and randomly licking his face. He loves to watch them - especially Boris. His toys are also very fascinating. He especially likes the giraffe in his baby carrier. I think that he really likes the orange and red (like his Pooh) in the giraffe. He is really good now at grabbing at his Binky/toys and putting them in his mouth. Sometimes he just takes the Binky and puts it in and out several times just because he knows he can.

He is really starting to like being on his tummy a little more. It was funny - I think his head is still a little heavy for him and he ended up rolling onto his back and he was like - whooa momma - what happened to me?! Chris is working with him on going from the back to front. He also is starting to get the hang of eating off a spoon. We are finding that more and more food is going down instead of back out. Although when there is something he doesn't like it is funny how it will accidentally go down and he'll give you a look like you are poisoning him - then he gags and regurgitates it and spits it in my glasses. That never happens to Daddy because he is much more fun during feedings! He is also starting to stop snacking on his bottle and actually drink up to 6 oz at once. He used to waste so much formula before because he would eat a little then snack again another hour and a half later. He is still pretty funny on the bottle because he still gets mad if I am talking/disturbing him while he is eating off his bottle. I've been told in the past that I am chatty but I now have to hear it from my 4 month old! :-)

Marshall has also been outstanding in his crib! He has his little routine (he has really created his own routine without us/the school really doing anything at all) that he goes by. It is funny because Chris and I are so laid back and he has his certain way of doing things. When he goes down at night he has to have his music playing on a loop (because the second it turns off he is up) and he'll sleep for about 4-6 hours. He also likes to sleep on his side so he can maneuver his head onto his Binky whenever it falls out throughout the night. That is pretty funny to watch too since he does it with his eyes closed.

I think TV Junkie is in his genes. Obviously he gets that from my side of the family. This little pose is like - hey lady your blocking my view.

Week 16: Special Dedication to My Girls - The Baker Twins

February 16, 2008

This week Marshall wanted to have a special dedication to his Girls - The Baker Twins and their Mommy, Marshall's Stalker, I mean Johanna Baker. :-) Grayden and Camden's mommy is Superwoman - we are sure that she is ready to pop anytime now and she is doing a marvelous job incubating her little babies. Marshall's girls are going to come into this world big and healthy - and Marshall cannot wait to meet them!

Week 16 means that Marshall has hit a major Milestone in his life - FOUR MONTHS!! Sadly for him, it isn't a day that is worth celebrating since he got 5 shots today. As you can see from the photo below he had a really tough rest of the week as he tried to recover from the pain of his shot. At his appointment he was weighing in at 12 lbs 11 oz and 24 inches long. He is in the 25th Percentile for his weight but the 50-60th for his height. Chris and I are wondering where this tall and skinny creature came from! He is definatly going to tower over us one day!
By the end of the week he was back to his normal self - chatting and smiling at Mommy and Daddy.

Oh and playing with his favorite Blankie! The mouth is open because he's about to stuff his little mouth with it!

Happy Valentine's Day!

February 14, 2008

I knew my baby was an angel, but now here's proof!

Photo's again at the Picture People to Commenmorate Marshall's First Valentine's Day!

Enjoy!

Week 15: I Can't Keep My Hands Out Of My Mouth

February 9, 2008

Oh Marshall's Hands are constatnly in his Mouth this week. He is just likes rubbing his new tooth. Its the only thing right now that he is really coordinated at getting into his mouth.

Marshall also has started to laugh a lot. He is very ticklish now. His laugh also comes out when we play his favorite game...pat-a-cake:

Marshall also loves to join along in Mommy's horrible singing.

Week 14: Mommy, Please Let Me Play With My Pooh!

February 2, 2008

Winni the Pooh that is!

Marshall loves his Winne the Pooh (thanks Mimi). Probably because his nose fits easily into his mouth. Which helps to alleviate this new sensation in his mouth - a little tooth poking through!! I think he likes the feel of the texture against his cheek, too.
Marshall also likes to play with the ball his Mimi got him.

There is nothing more enjoyable to the little guy than some company about his size. He just loves to play with Kids. He especially likes to "talk" to his cousin Katherine. And play with Cars with cousin Cody...
Or just sit around in a baby bouncer with cousin Caroline.
Marshall also likes spending time at Mimi and GrandpaHa's House. Mimi is a funny lady.

Week 13: My little Simon Cowell

January 26, 2008

Well Mr. Marshall has certainly become quite enamored by the TV. He just loves to watch it. He likes to especially talk to it during American Idol!! He is very expressive when the weirdos and less talented contestants are performing. Although I think he responds to it because it reminds him of his not so talented mommy's performances around the house (which he finds quite amusing and Chris might find a little annoying)! As you can see from the photo, he is watching TV from across the Room! I think he inherited this "TV Junkie" trait from his Mommy...

Normally Marshall doesn't do very well with Tummy Time, but we have found that when we put under him a part of the Christmas present from his Aunt and Uncle, as well as put him on the couch (which is eye level with the TV), he seems to enjoy it more. I think he also likes it so he can watch the doggies as well.

His feet are really fun to watch. It's like they are little hands expressing themselves as he talks or does his activities.

I got a little bit of it on camera (when I bring out the camera to capture his laughing and talking he immediately stops and just stares at the camera - it certainly become more and more tricky as he gets older!):

I'm Three Months Old!

January 20, 2008

As you can see from some of the photos this week, what a fun baby Marshall has become! He has a very fun and entertaining quality about him. Which made it difficult for me to go back to work and miss spending all day with him.

His first week at school went really well for him. It was probably hardest on me (and Chris) than it was for him. When I came and did surprise visits on him throughout the week, I found that he was just having so much fun. He really enjoys watching the other kids in his class. In fact he got mad at me for interfering with his line of sight onto the other kids. He also insisted upon being fed in a way that he could watch the other kids rather than me. He has a little girlfriend in his class who is just 18 days older than him, Caila, and they enjoy playing with each other. When they were lying under their play gym together he started rubbing her head and she fell asleep (just like what daddy does to Marshall).

He also has started to try to lift his head a lot from sitting position as well as starting to roll over. Although he still doesn't like his tummy time as much.

At home and at school, he really enjoys toys. His favorite toy at the house is his piano. He just was so excited to discover that he can make noise. We are also finding that he is starting to try to laugh more. Maybe in the next few weeks we can coax a full blown laugh. We still haven't found any tickle spots yet either but you know that his daddy will be really excited when he finds that!
