Day Care Shopping

June 13, 2007

Well Marshall and I have had a pretty interesting couple of days shopping for his day care center. We've been told by many people that places fill up fast and they weren't kidding. Most of the places we visited have openings for January/February, but then no other openings until April! So mommy and daddy have to make a decision very quickly!!! There are so many choices, but after visiting each and every location we were really able to narrow the field. Some places were really very disappointing, especially the new facility near our home. The baby area was very very small and there wasn't a lot of room to crawl around. The babies didn't seem very happy there.

Luckily though, Marshall and I found a really amazing and cool place in Frisco called SandCastle Private School. Marshall is really going to love it there. The school has a Montesorri curriculum and its theme possesses an imaginative environment focused on the ocean, beach, and coastal theme, which is really going to match Marshal's nautical themed bedroom.
Most of the places we visited had a lot of baby girls in their classes, but at SandCastle there are going to be a lot of boys in his class to play with. The boys looked like they were having a lot of fun and the teachers are really nice! When he gets to be 2-3, they are going to start teaching him how to use the computer, learn his letters, and have some Spanish and French lessons. They also learn how to play basketball and soccer. Hopefully the spot doesn't fill up before mommy puts the deposit down...
